Age: Late Jurassic (150 million years ago)

Location: Liaoning Province, China

The size and bones of this species are very similar to modern fish.  Usually 8" to 11" long and 2" to 3" wide.  Has just been found in 1998.  It isn't easy to find a specimen which has good backbones.  The specimen has nice fossil color and good contrast colors between the fossil and the matrix.     back to the top
